It is critical that North Carolina shift away from dirty sources of energy generation to clean and renewable sources over the next decade. While there has been some progress in the state, there’s also a very specific obstacle holding us back: bad ‘net metering’ rules. ‘Net metering’ allows utilities customers to install clean energy systems and put extra power onto the electric power grid, offsetting the power we use at other times of day. 

Unfortunately, North Carolina’s existing policy deters clean energy. Please sign the petition below and urge North Carolina's decision makers to make net metering financially viable. The NC Sustainable Energy Association has more information on net metering here.
