From rising sea levels, to more intense tropical storms and hurricanes, North Carolina faces no shortage of consequences as a result of global warming. In order to avoid a dangerous shift in our climate, significant changes need to be made immediately. In the absence of federal action, many cities, states, and individuals are taking action to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide being emitted. Now it is time for North Carolina to join the growing numbers of people and governments taking action.
You will learn how a changing climate can impact North Carolina and find out ways North Carolina decision makers can address these problems. We’ll discuss why North Carolina should set a goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, how we can clean up our cars to reduce carbon emissions, and ways our state can adapt to the anticipated harmful impacts of a warming climate.
